Radstadt ligt in het Salzburgerland in de omgeving van Salzburg. Radstadt is een oude historisch vestingstad, gelegen op 900 meter op een rotsterras. Het is een zeer zonnige plaats. 

The medieval town of radstadt invites its guests to explore the numerous traces of history between the old town walls, churches, tombs and monasteries. Parish Church from the Late Romanic period. Schusterturm tower, a Late Gothic light pillar tower on the cemetery of the parish church. Capuchin church with tomb and a Baroque high altar. Town fortification dating back to the 13th century with three fortified towers (1527 to 1535).

Hexenturm, Teichturm and Kapuzinerturm are the names of three towers that bear witness to the old fortification. Today they house the museum of local history and culture Scheikstiege, Metzgerloch, Baderstiege, Sparkassenpassage, Stöcklloch, cemetery – six passage ways lead from the centre of town to the town wall.

The Millenniums path is a 1,000-step stroll through history and around the town walls. Lerchen Castle is first mentioned in official documents in 1298 and was renovated in 1779.
